I am enjoying your site and am going there before Drudge to glean the benefit of your views and reading. I have something to say on the immigration issue. I would argue it is simply neo-slavery, that the Civil War was about State's Rights, and the hypocrisy of it all is finally rearing Truth's head. Much of the anger is driven by those who vacuum the floors and mow the lawns of people who feel it is perfectly acceptable to bring home 8 grand a month while paying 5 bucks an hour for these services. They turn a blind eye toward the impossible fact that nobody can live on such wages. Carpenters are making wages paid 20 years ago, while the price of homes, and, consequently, the cost of finding shelter are have increased ten fold. Somebody is making money, but it isn't the skilled labor needed to erect these mansions. Those who produce real product today have been relegated to low incomes. I have sat in on converstions bemoaning the disappearance of traditional craftmanship today, as if it was a national charcter issue. I love the inherent dignity of hard working Mexicans and have also heard the frustrated views of their kids, who live the experience their folks go through. To them, Slavery is a daily issue. No wonder they are angry. Americans need to re-visit the history of what the South was really saying in order to realize the radical departure we made from the original revolution, and how we have encouraged the idea that keeps our head in the sand.
