Storm Gathering West Of Seattle
April 03, 2006
This was the view from our hill in Seattle, looking west, at about 6:30 p.m. this evening.
Somehow, it bypassed our neighborhood. The neat thing about living here - one of them, anyway - is the constantly changing weather over Puget Sound. One more reason we're getting Californicated, in Seattle. All sun all the time: B-O-R-I-N-G. That's not quite a problem we have. Matt in his linked piece speaks of finding the "Sun Breaks". That can be a problem for all of us. I recently found a website by a Canadian that provides hourly predictions for 2,500+ locations in North America. Mr. Danko's pages give hourly predictions for sky, temp, wind, etc. for the next 48 hours. Though his site is designed for star gazing, I have found them to be close enough to predict a two hour sun break at the passage of a cold front. You can view the next 48 hours near Matt's home at: http://cleardarksky.com/c/Seattlekey.html?1 From that page you can link to a location near your home.
