It takes courage to put a Bush sticker on your car in this area (I'm on the Eastside).

I thought about putting a W '04 on my car but decided not to after seeing scratches on several of the 5 or 6 cars I see regularly that have them.

The blue pickup truck with pictures from Abu Ghraib and a hand-scrawled banner proclaiming "American Style Freedom, Right Up The A**" (not blocked out on the truck, of course) has no such problems, though.

I like the area (I've been here about two years), but I've learned to keep quiet. More crushing of dissent in George Bush's Amerikkka, I s'pose.

I drive a rather spiffy foreign car (I'm not young, and I earned the money to buy it). I've congratulated myself many times over for NOT affixing a Bush/Cheny sticker -- I've seen too many "key jobs." And I don't live in Oregon

Sad that you have to be concerned about expressing your views through bumper stickers, because someone might key your car.

I thought "liberal" was at least partially defined as "accepting of other people's views."

Hey wait! Didn't that paper called the Constitution give us the right to express ourselves freely? Just wondered.

So move to Pierce county, or even south King or Kitsap. It's not like the area's that liberal overall. Otherwise, Pam Roach, Steve Johnson, and Jack Cairnes (not to mention Jennifer Dunn) wouldn't have jobs.

Bush' secret weapon? It is probably right there with his secret WMDs.

What puzzles me is the near-complete absence of Kerry bumper stickers or yard signs. The amoral "Anybody but Bush" signs (what, they're going to write in Cheney for the top spot?) outnumber Kerry signs at least 10 to 1.

Hey Medievalist, (love that nickname by the way) why should I move because someone else doesn't have enough respect (or an open mind) that they will commit vandalism? Why move when I can just set up a camera, and then have them arrested with photographic evidence? Nah, I think I'll stay and fight, rather than run and hide.

Besides that, the vandals don't get to vote if they are in jail! (and that's a good thing)

But, I have to agree to a point... if the heat is to great, getting out of the kitchen is an option for most.

Come on... nearly every argument on this page is embarassing in its logic.

You guys sound like a bunch of babies. Yes, there's some liberals out there that are butt heads. Guess what? There's conservatives out there that are buttheads too. Can't you come up with better arguments as to who should be president?

Here's an argument:
1. All of Bush's intelligence indicated that Iraq was not an imminent threat. The bipartisan 911 commission has made this clear.
2. Bush lied about Iraq being an imminent threat.
3. Because of our rush to war with an enemy that didn't pose an imminent threat, we are now stuck with most of our troops in Iraq.
4. Because we have so many troops in Iraq, we can't have as many troops in Afghanistan, the Phillipines, Saudi Arabia, etc. Al Queda is, therefore, not being given the attention it deserves.
5. Because Bush isn't giving Al Queda the attention it deserves, America is less safe.

How's that for an argument? And I didn't even call conservatives buttheads...

America - if you want it secure, vote for Kerry - he knows the difference between Saudi terrorists and Iraqi civilians. Bush says we shouldn't switch horses in the middle of the stream. He's right - unless the horse is dead.
